About the Organization
ITPSC is an incorporated nonprofit member
organization whose
purpose is to enhance and develop the
telecommunications
management function by promoting a means whereby major users
of telecommunications facilities and services can readily exchange information,
experiences and conceptions to the mutual benefit of the individual members and
their companies.
The Information Technology
Professionals of South Carolina (ITPSC) formerly known as the South Carolina
Telecommunications Managers Association (SCTMA) was founded in April of 1976
with the purpose of bringing together telecommunications managers from across
the state to share an open forum for the exchange of information. In January of
1998, the SCTMA changed its name to Information Technology Professionals of
South Carolina in order to align itself with the rapid convergence of voice and
data in our industry.
Presently, ITPSC is made up
of over 50 organizations from business, government, education and the
telecommunications industry. Individual members have extensive and varied
experience levels from which to draw knowledge and help.
Purpose
The purpose of ITPSC, as set forth in the Mission Statement, shall be:
- To provide a forum whereby ITPSC members
can exchange information, experiences, and concepts to the mutual benefit of
member companies and/or individual members.
- To encourage and assist in the education
of member company representatives and/or individual members by means of
seminars, conferences, newsletters and special reports or presentations.
This education will cover current topics in the field of information and
telecommunications technology.
- To present, where possible and practical,
a unified position on information and telecommunications technology matters,
policies, legislative and regulatory issues which affect or could affect
ITPSC’s membership.
- To support public and private educational
institutions offering curriculums in information and telecommunications
technology.
