NEXT MEETING
April 15, 2008 at Tronco's at the Fairgrounds

From the ITPSC Board and Program Committee:

Many of us can remember the time when protecting our networks was ensuring that no one tapped into our long distance network services.  We might have even had felt a little pride in knowing that every long distance call on our network could be accounted for down to the tenth of a minute. Our jobs consisted of writing programs and building systems to process growing information needs of our users, clients and customers. That was the Old World.

The New World requires us to anticipate that someone across the county or around the world will attempt to and possibly succeed in getting through our firewalls, infecting our systems with viruses and worms and compromising the integrity of  any company’s information resources.  These breaches and intrusions in our network security can close companies down and have international effects on the world’s economy or the safety of entire nations.

Now that we have your attention, we invite you to meet and hear this month’s Program Presenter, Thomas D. Hix, FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Columbia Division, and Cyber Squad. SSA Hix will inform us on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s top priorities in preventing, trending protecting and curbing instances where information breaches and intrusions occur. Through case studies we will learn the importance of how to employ some of these same strategies to protect our single most important resource. Information.

Please join us April 15, 2008, at 11:45 a.m. at Tronco's for this month's meeting and Presentation.
